Story
Before Castlevania
John Morris was born on December 12 in Texas, USA to the Morris family, a branch of the Belmont Clan, and would one day meet Eric Lecarde. Destiny entwined them because Eric's powers were the key to enabling a Morris to use the full power of the Vampire Killer whip and this lead to the two becoming friends for many years to come. Eventually, John's father, Quincy Morris, traveled to Transylvania in order to defeat Dracula, but never returned. John and Eric then trained to become vampire hunters in order to follow Quincy in his footsteps.
Events of Bloodlines
During the end of the World War I, John and Eric discovered that a vampire countess named Elizabeth Bartley was trying to resurrect Dracula and took advantage of the many anguished souls and lost lives caused by the war.
This was the beginning of their quest, and they traveled to the ruins of Dracula's castle, but were unable to find any trace of Dracula. After learning that Elizabeth was nearby, they followed in hot pursuit while fighting their way all across Europe. With much effort, John and Eric were able to finally end the menace of Dracula and Elizabeth after a final showdown in Castle Proserpina.
After Castlevania
John eventually died from using the Vampire Killer whip too much. Because he was not a direct descendant of the Belmonts, over reliance on the whip came at the cost of his life. John had a son, Jonathan, but never taught him how to unlock the whip's full power as it would potentially harm Jonathan as it did himself. Due to this, John perished while honoring his vampire hunter duties until the very end.
