Dario Bossi is one of the antagonist from Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. He is one of the Dark Lord Candidates, people who were all born in the year 1999 on August 11th, the day of Dracula's demise, and had obtained some of his powers. He is a wanted criminal, responsible for countless incidents of arson.

Story

Events of Dawn of Sorrow

In 2035, during the solar eclipise, a small portion of Dracula's power leaked out from it and found its way to Dario, conceiving an ability to manipulate fire. He joined a cult named Wight Light soon afterwards, led by a dark priestess named Celia Fortner, who saw in him a potential Dark Lord. Their plan was to claim the Power of Dominance, a power that was slumbering in a young man named Soma Cruz, and grant it to either him or Dmitrii Blinov, fellow candidate and Dario's rival.

Celia was able to lure the youth to their base of operation, a castle built on the remains of Castlevania. Dario met him in the Wizardry Lab, but was unimpressed and ready to tear the boy apart. Celia commanded him to wait however, telling him that they could destroy him whenever, however they wished. It would serve as a test for both him and Dmitrii: whoever was able to defeat Soma was the one who would claim his power and the Dark Lord title. Dario understood, and warned Soma that he would burn him to ashes the next time they met, and then took his leave.

They would have their next encounter in the Garden of Madness, where he told the boy he was glad that Dmitrii was finished off. Soma asked him why he wanted to become the lord of darkness, and Dario responded that he wanted to break the limits of his already amazing power. They then engaged into a fight, and Dario was defeated despite of his efforts. Soma told him to give up his goal, but he was determined and started to charge up a powerful attack. Celia suddenly interfered and told him to retreat for now because she didn't want to lose the last candidate.

He retreaded to the castle's highest point where he would eargely wait for a rematch with Soma. In the mean time, he fought the vampire hunter Julius Belmont, the one who was responsible for Dracula's defeat and from a family talked about in legend because of their amazing power. He was able to bring the aged warrior to his knees however, and taunted Soma who had arrived just in time. Dario said that he wasn't at full power yet and dared him to come to the Throne Room, where they would settle scores once and for all.

Dario had fused his soul with a powerful fire demon named Aguni, and his powers had increased significally. He was confident that he was going to win, if a Belmont couldn't stop him then Soma surely couldn't as well. When they faced off, Soma said that power was nothing if one doesn't know how to use it; he would never lose to a fool like him. Dario angrily told him to not act like he knew, they still had to see if Soma was able to survive this time around.

During the battle, Dario realised to his horror that he had lost his abilities and asked the youth what he had done. Soma explained that he had destroyed Aguni, and his fire powers along with it. Now that he was completely helpless, Dario ran off to an unknown fate.
